Meet Brooklyn Powell from SIX YEARS + #giveaway

Because I know you still have a little while to wait before Six Years, I'd like to present you the characters in the book. Let's start with Brooklyn. :)

(And don't forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom. It's official, 300 readers have added Six Years to Goodreads! Next giveaway at 400 and 500.)

Name: Brooklyn Powel

Talents/Skills: plays guitar and piano, sings.
Birth order: 2nd child
Siblings (describe relationship): Kelly, died before Brooklyn’s birth.
Relationship skills: She’s not used to serious relationships with deep emotional attachments. Unless Nolan is concerned. ;)

Hair Color: brown with some red strands dyed
Glasses or contact lenses? No.
Skin color: white, sun kissed.

Distinguishing features: a scar on one hand.
How does he/she dress? jeans, cut-off shorts, tee-shirts, high heels, sneakers when she has to work.
Mannerisms: Toys with her hair sometimes.
Habits: plays guitar when she needs to relax, bites her lip when Nolan makes her nervous.
Health: Good health.
Hobbies: music, watching TV series or movies.
Style (Elegant, shabby etc.): sexy without trying too much, relaxed most of the time.
Greatest flaw: is trying to protect herself too much and has a hard time opening herself to other people.
Best quality: she forgives and she’s a very loyal friend.

Educational Background: High school graduate
Intelligence Level: she’s smart, street smart.
Any Mental Illnesses? No.
Character's short-term goals in life: have enough money to move in her very own rental apartment instead of being stuck with her parents.
Character's long-term goals in life: At the beginning, she’s forgotten of any of her dreams and goals. (I can’t tell you more or else it’ll spoil you, but you can bet that Nolan is one of her long-term goals) ;)
How does Character see himself/herself? She is aware that she’s not an ugly girl, but she feels lacking when it comes to Nolan. She’s stuck in a small town, she doesn’t have money to her name, doesn’t have better prospects for her future so she feels lacking in that way.
How does Character believe he/she is perceived by others? She thinks that her guy friends like her because she’s pretty much laid-back. She thinks that Nolan sees her like nothing more than a little sister, but she fast starts to question how he truly sees her. (cue more spoilers I can’t write here). She thinks that her parents don’t see her, don’t love her.
How self-confident is the character? She is very self-confident in her every-day life. Not always when it comes to Nolan.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? A combination of both. But I’d say that her emotions most often win over her logic. She feels deeply everything when Nolan is concerned.
What would most embarass this character? That’s a tough one… I’d say Nolan rejecting her, but… (And I can’t complete that sentence). ;)

Strengths/Weaknesses: independent, empathetic, determined, big-hearted, stubborn...
Introvert or Extrovert? Mostly extrovert.
How does the character deal with anger? She usually takes off, but she’s known to face down the person who’s caused that anger. Her guitar can help too.
With sadness? She avoids people because she doesn’t break down in front of others, not since Nolan left.
With conflict? She faces it heads on.
With change? She welcomes it.
What does the character want out of life? Happiness, a real life. (Later on her plans evolve, but you will have to read the book to discover them).
What would the character like to change in his/her life? Almost everything, but now that Nolan is back in Riverdale, a lot is already changing.
What motivates this character? Nolan is probably her biggest motivation.
What frightens this character? Losing Nolan again, failing in her building independence.
What makes this character happy? Nolan has always made her happy. Playing music makes her happy too.
Is the character judgmental of others? No.
Is the character generous or stingy? She’s generous, but she doesn’t have much other than herself to be generous with so...
Is the character generally polite or rude? She’s polite with people who deserve her politeness.

Character's role in the novel (main character? hero? heroine? Romantic interest? etc.): Female main character, and she is Nolan’s romantic interest.
Scene where character first appears: Chapter 1, first scene.
Relationships with other characters:

1. Nolan Bell: long lost friends at first. They get closer throughout the novel.
2. Mrs. Bell: Nolan’s mother. She used to hate her and resent her for what she’s done to Nolan, but she’s starting to see her differently and she becomes a friend in a roundabout way.
3. Lena: That’s the wildcard you will discover later on!

There are more characters, but I don't want to give away too much. I hope it makes you want to read Six Years. :)

Don't forget that if 400 readers add the book to Goodreads I will give away another book. If 500 readers add Six Years to Goodreads I will giveaway 2 ARCs.
