Six Years is doing so great! Thank you.

The release day is now over! What a crazy day. I went from scared to delighted in the span of a few minutes. Every time someone said they 1-clicked I wanted to both hug them and hide far away from any internet connection. ;)

But I didn't hide and I had a fabulous day.

I can't thank you enough for 1-clicking, for sharing, liking, blogging, reviewing. You are wonderful. (Now, picture me hugging the hell out of you).

Do you want to know where Six Years stands at right now on Amazon US? I still can't believe it myself to be honest.

Six Years is in the 500 top on Amazon US! Isn't it crazy?

Again, thank you a lot for your support. I hope you're having, about to have or had a good time with Nolan and Brooklyn. xx

Six Years: Some News

Remember that book? It's coming out June 9th and I really hope you marked the date in your calendar. ;)

Six Years is a rather long book (over 100k words) and since it's the first book I'm going to self-publish I've picked a release date that wouldn't be too close to give me enough time to prep this big baby for the grand day.

As of today, my first beta reader (and a wonderful lady I'm glad to call friend now) has the last chapter and epilogue to beta read. It's in her inbox. :D

What does that mean?

It means that once she's finished and once I've worked on these following her comments, I'm going to send Six Years to more beta readers. But this time around it shouldn't take long because the book is more readable at this point.

After that, I'll tweak some things and then it'll be edited. Then, I'm going to drive myself crazy formatting Six Years. In theory, I know what I'm doing. Let's see if the end result works.

And then... I'll be sending the ARC! That's when I'll be rocking in the corner, wondering why I put myself through this. It's not going to be pretty, but at least you won't see it. ;)

I'm pretty sure I'll be ready long before the release date, but now I can't exactly pick another one. I'd rather have my book ready long before the release than having to put all-nighters to format the thing and do a bad job.

So, I'm getting more and more nervous, but I'm also very excited. (I'm also kind of bouncing on my couch right now thinking about working on We Shouldn't And Yet... because now I have the time).

Stay tuned for more info regarding Six Years and if you feel like sharing the teasers and/or the link to add it to goodreads I couldn't thank you enough.

Meet Brooklyn Powell from SIX YEARS + #giveaway

Because I know you still have a little while to wait before Six Years, I'd like to present you the characters in the book. Let's start with Brooklyn. :)

(And don't forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom. It's official, 300 readers have added Six Years to Goodreads! Next giveaway at 400 and 500.)

Name: Brooklyn Powel
Age: 18
Nationality: American
Hometown: Riverdale
Current Residence: Riverdale, her childhood house (at first)
Occupation: Waitress
Income: Low income
Talents/Skills: plays guitar and piano, sings.
Birth order: 2nd child
Siblings (describe relationship): Kelly, died before Brooklyn’s birth.
Relationship skills: She’s not used to serious relationships with deep emotional attachments. Unless Nolan is concerned. ;)

Height: 5 feet 6 inches
Weight: 122 lbs
Eye Color: brown
Hair Color: brown with some red strands dyed
Glasses or contact lenses? No.
Skin color: white, sun kissed.
Shape of Face: oval
Distinguishing features: a scar on one hand.
How does he/she dress? jeans, cut-off shorts, tee-shirts, high heels, sneakers when she has to work.
Mannerisms: Toys with her hair sometimes.
Habits: plays guitar when she needs to relax, bites her lip when Nolan makes her nervous.
Health: Good health.
Hobbies: music, watching TV series or movies.
Style (Elegant, shabby etc.): sexy without trying too much, relaxed most of the time.
Greatest flaw: is trying to protect herself too much and has a hard time opening herself to other people.
Best quality: she forgives and she’s a very loyal friend.

Educational Background: High school graduate
Intelligence Level: she’s smart, street smart.
Any Mental Illnesses? No.
Character's short-term goals in life: have enough money to move in her very own rental apartment instead of being stuck with her parents.
Character's long-term goals in life: At the beginning, she’s forgotten of any of her dreams and goals. (I can’t tell you more or else it’ll spoil you, but you can bet that Nolan is one of her long-term goals) ;)
How does Character see himself/herself? She is aware that she’s not an ugly girl, but she feels lacking when it comes to Nolan. She’s stuck in a small town, she doesn’t have money to her name, doesn’t have better prospects for her future so she feels lacking in that way.
How does Character believe he/she is perceived by others? She thinks that her guy friends like her because she’s pretty much laid-back. She thinks that Nolan sees her like nothing more than a little sister, but she fast starts to question how he truly sees her. (cue more spoilers I can’t write here). She thinks that her parents don’t see her, don’t love her.
How self-confident is the character? She is very self-confident in her every-day life. Not always when it comes to Nolan.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? A combination of both. But I’d say that her emotions most often win over her logic. She feels deeply everything when Nolan is concerned.
What would most embarass this character? That’s a tough one… I’d say Nolan rejecting her, but… (And I can’t complete that sentence). ;)

Strengths/Weaknesses: independent, empathetic, determined, big-hearted, stubborn...
Introvert or Extrovert? Mostly extrovert.
How does the character deal with anger? She usually takes off, but she’s known to face down the person who’s caused that anger. Her guitar can help too.
With sadness? She avoids people because she doesn’t break down in front of others, not since Nolan left.
With conflict? She faces it heads on.
With change? She welcomes it.
What does the character want out of life? Happiness, a real life. (Later on her plans evolve, but you will have to read the book to discover them).
What would the character like to change in his/her life? Almost everything, but now that Nolan is back in Riverdale, a lot is already changing.
What motivates this character? Nolan is probably her biggest motivation.
What frightens this character? Losing Nolan again, failing in her building independence.
What makes this character happy? Nolan has always made her happy. Playing music makes her happy too.
Is the character judgmental of others? No.
Is the character generous or stingy? She’s generous, but she doesn’t have much other than herself to be generous with so...
Is the character generally polite or rude? She’s polite with people who deserve her politeness.

Character's role in the novel (main character? hero? heroine? Romantic interest? etc.): Female main character, and she is Nolan’s romantic interest.
Scene where character first appears: Chapter 1, first scene.
Relationships with other characters:

1. Nolan Bell: long lost friends at first. They get closer throughout the novel.
2. Mrs. Bell: Nolan’s mother. She used to hate her and resent her for what she’s done to Nolan, but she’s starting to see her differently and she becomes a friend in a roundabout way.
3. Lena: That’s the wildcard you will discover later on!

There are more characters, but I don't want to give away too much. I hope it makes you want to read Six Years. :)

Don't forget that if 400 readers add the book to Goodreads I will give away another book. If 500 readers add Six Years to Goodreads I will giveaway 2 ARCs.

***TEASER TUESDAY*** Six Years, by Stephanie Witter

Hi!

If you're following me on Twitter and/or Facebook, you know that I'm currently still working on Six Years with my friend and beta reader. Next week we'll be working on chapter 20 & 21. It means that the end is very, very close now. :D

Because of the release date fast approaching, and because I'm a nervous wreck whenever I have a deadline, I am not much online. I spend most of my free time with Brooklyn and Nolan. That doesn't mean I couldn't find some time to make two new teasers!

I hope you like them and feel free to share with your friends if you think it's a book they'd like to read.

(We're 1 reader away from reaching 300! Do you remember what I said? I'll be giving away one of my books if Six Years is added by 300 readers to Goodreads. If it reaches 500 before the release, then I'll giveaway 1 ARC of Six Years before the release).

They hadn’t seen each other in six years.
She’d always had a crush on him.
He'd only ever seen her like a little sister.
And now...he’s back.

Brooklyn

I thought that he was a part of a distant past. I thought I didn’t feel anything for him now, but I was not so sure anymore. Having him back in my life, for however long it was, was making me see things differently. So many things had changed in the last six years and somehow I’d lost myself and forgotten all about my dreams.

My home life was still a mess, my personal life was nothing to boast about and when I see how successful he is, how everything he’d always wanted came true, I couldn't help but feel lacking in a lot of ways. But he’s back and he needed me. I knew I was the only one who understood that part of his life, the only one he’s willing to share it with. My heart is still beating too hard and too fast for him and this time around, I was as much an adult as he was.
Having a six year age gap didn't mean shit.

Nolan

Being back in Riverdale was harder than I thought. I’d turned my back on that life, but there had always been that one girl in my head. Little B. Now she’s nothing like the twelve year old girl I’d last seen. She’s a young woman, gorgeous and sexy. I couldn't stay away. There’s something drawing me to her and it goes beyond my need to reconnect with her, to have her back in my life and fill the hollow part of my chest. But I couldn't forget the little girl she had been; I shouldn’t forget the little girl she used to be.

Growing up with a junkie mother and nobody else, my neighbor, Brooklyn, had been my only happy place. I had taken care of her, and when I had left, I had to leave behind a huge part of me. I couldn't do it again. I needed her. Once again, she’s the only person I want in my life, but I wasn’t sure if it was for all the right reasons.

Were there too many obstacles in the way?

Contemporary Romance standalone novel for readers over 18.

TEASER TUESDAY - Six Years, by Stephanie Witter

Hi!

Do you know how many readers have Six Years on their to-read list on Goodreads? 272! I know, it's not a lot, but it's a big deal for me. It's amazing to see that some readers are willing to discover Brooklyn and Nolan's story. And with some luck, more will add it to their TBR! After all, SIX YEARS isn't coming out before June 9th. We have a lot of time to wait. ;)

In the meantime, I have two more teasers! One of these teasers is another peak in Nolan's head. I want you to like the poor guy. He's...let's say he doesn't give himself enough credit. I hope you like these teasers and please, share them around.

When 300 people add SIX YEARS to Goodreads I will giveaway one of my books.
When 500 people add SIX YEARS to Goodreads (and if it's before the release) I will giveaway 1 ARC of SIX YEARS.

You know what you have to do... SHARE!

Thank you. xxx

If you're interested, you can sign up to receive an email from me as soon as SIX YEARS is live. Your email will not be used for anything else, will not be shared or added to my newsletter.
